Deciding Which LCD TV To Buy

Not so long ago, the cost of buying an LCD TV was prohibitive, and most people who wanted a home theater experience chose a plasma TV instead. However, the cost of them has been dropping lately and it is now possible to get yourself a cheap LCD TV that provides a great viewing experience. If you want to buy a cheap LCD TV, it pays to do a little research before committing to a purchase. As with all types of TVs, there are multiple brands, sizes and options to consider. To make your decision a bit easier, make use of the following tips…

Look online for reviews of each brand - All of the big electrical brands have ventured into the LCD TV market, so you will be spoilt for choice. Sony, Samsung and Toshiba are some of the big players, but you will have to pay a premium to get yourself an LCD TV made by one of those companies. You can get some great TVs from the smaller manufacturers, but the quality of them can be a bit hit and miss. Therefore, it is advisable to do some research online before making a final decision.

Choose a sensible screen size - People are often tempted to just go for the biggest screen size possible, but that is not always the best way. The reason being that how near or far you sit from your TV is an important factor to consider. If you have a small living room, then a huge TV is really not necessary, as you will be sitting too close to it to get the optimal viewing experience. If you normally sit around 4 feet from your TV, then a screen size of around 30 inches is best, and if you normally sit 12 feet from your screen, then a 50 inch screen is recommended.

Opt for a good resolution - You should look for an LCD TV that has a screen resolution of at least 1024×768. Whilst you can certainly watch a TV with a lower resolution, you will probably not be completely satisfied. A mistake that many people make is to pay extra for a big screen size whilst totally forgetting about the screen resolution. You are much better off getting a smaller TV with a high resolution then a big TV with a low resolution.
